Chained Beasts ibex: Character Facts and Builds

Chained Beasts ibex search guide: official facts, beast-character systems, and a community build you can test in the arena.

If you opened a character page hunting for the Chained Beasts ibex, you are not alone. Featherweight Games' colosseum roguelite launched on October 15, 2026, and players are already sorting which beasts are worth a full run. The Chained Beasts ibex sits in a thin public record: the Chained Beasts product page on Xbox promises unlockable fighters with powerful abilities, yet it never prints a horned gladiator's stats, skills, or unlock path.

That gap matters because character choice here is not cosmetic. Health, speed, on-hit effects, and how you interact with chains all change the run. Until a card in your own client names the ibex, treat any horned-beast kit you see online as unconfirmed.

What Public Pages Confirm

Store copy and the game's database listing describe a 1–4 player co-op gladiator roguelite, not a single-character dossier. You fight in an ancient-Rome arena, throw weapons, and turn urns, spike walls, and snake pits into finishers. Friends are literally chained together. Sync up and you trip foes. Miss the timing and you wrap a pillar.

Wounds are a system, not flavor. A limp, a missing eye, or hallucinations can change inputs from one day to the next. Potions help, then sometimes hand you a worse affliction. Surgery is hinted at as another gamble. Skills, crowd favor, gold, and gear are how a bruised fighter becomes dangerous. New characters unlock and, according to the publisher, each one brings powerful abilities. None of those pages name an ibex.

Xbox also lists cloud play, 60 fps or higher, achievements, cloud saves, and Play Anywhere. Console online multiplayer needs a Game Pass tier sold separately. Cloud streaming with Ultimate includes the game; Essential or Premium still require a purchase to stream. None of that tells you how an ibex blocks, charges, or scales punches.

Database keywords do include animals, arena combat, traps, leveling, and permadeath. An ibex—a horned wild goat—would fit an animal gladiator roster. Fitting the theme is not the same as shipping the character. If your menu has no ibex, it is not hiding behind this article.

How Beast Characters Actually Play

Official text says every run asks you to take a different path. In practice, that path is a stack of four layers.

First is the beast itself: a passive package such as extra health, slower movement, or a defensive trigger. Second is skills picked as you level, including crowd-powered damage and unarmed tech. Third is afflictions from training and battle, which can raise damage while wrecking your camera, gait, or accuracy. Fourth is a single equipped item. Community reports are clear that you do not wear a full armor set plus a weapon enchant at the same time. One slot means the "best" item is whichever effect your skills already multiply.

Environmental kills stay relevant on every beast. A creator walking a tanky animal still threw people into snakes, lined them up on spears, and tackled them toward spikes. Chains matter more in co-op than solo. The same player noted that a "slightly shorter chains" wound was easy to accept alone and would be miserable if three friends were clipped to them.

Bosses are built to have the advantage: more support, arena toys, and jumps that can dump weapons stuck in their body. Fame pushes you toward those fights and, in the fantasy of the store page, toward Rome, freedom, or revenge. Your beast only carries you if the skill stack matches how that beast wants to take or avoid hits.

The Logged Build Is a Bear, Not an Ibex

The only full combat log in this research set is a hulking bear unarmed run, labeled here as player experience. It is not a Chained Beasts ibex guide. It is the clearest picture of how a beast passive plus fists can break encounters, and it is the template you should measure any new animal against.

The creator described the hulking bear as more health, less movement speed, and a brief invulnerability plus fury whenever they took damage. They leaned into getting clipped on purpose, then counterpunched. Early on, bare hands did almost nothing. The run looked silly until three pieces lined up.

PiecePlayer-reported effectWhy it spiked damage
Brass knuckles specialistAbout 100% extra punch damageTurned fists from a joke into the plan

Punch tripsAbout 40% chance to trip for 2 secondsGrounded targets for follow-ups
Fury on tripped targetsAbout 3 seconds of furyNear-constant buff if punches trip
First backstabStun for about 2 secondsRewarded stepping behind a foe

They also grabbed a shop discount around 40%, a crowd boon around 50% extra damage while the stands were wild, longer stuns, and a training boon that always granted two experience while hiding both strain and the resulting affliction. A healer potion was noted with a ceiling around 80% health. Gold was tight early; they skipped pricey weapons, including an obsidian harpoon they had never seen, to keep spending for later.

Once brass knuckles, double unarmed damage, and Drive It Home were all online, player experience says bosses fell in roughly three or four hits, and some regular enemies were one-tapped. The trick was physical: throw a spear, sword, or axe so it sticks, then punch to pop that melee damage again. A boss jump could shake every embedded weapon loose, so they tried to punch before the leap. Party play was called out as even stronger if everyone sticks a weapon and one player delivers the punch.

That is a bear fantasy: slow, sturdy, happy to be hit, then disgusting at close range. An agile horned fighter would want different proof. Do not copy the "stand in the spear" plan unless the ibex card also pays you for taking damage.

A Test Plan for Any New Beast

Use this whether the Chained Beasts ibex shows up in a later unlock or you are simply comparing animals on the select screen. Five arena passes tell you more than a thumbnail.

  1. Read the passive out loud before you queue. Write down health, speed, and any line about fury, horns, charges, or unarmed damage. If the card does not mention fists, do not force a knuckle build on night one.
  2. In the first wave, stick one thrown weapon, then punch. If nothing extra pops, Drive It Home is not in your pool yet or does not exist on this patch. Keep a real weapon equipped.
  3. Block, trip, and throw into a trap before you chase big skills. Official combat still rewards urns, spikes, and snake pits. A creator's "combo string" was stun, a few hits, then a throw.
  4. During training, decide if you can see the affliction. The logged run hid strain and still paid two experience. That accelerates levels and also blinds you. Stop if the wound breaks your ability to aim throws.
  5. On the boss, time one burst with fury or crowd damage up, and note whether a jump clears stuck weapons. If it does, punch immediately or stop investing in embeds.

Mouse and keyboard made throws more reliable for that creator after a controller stick and an intoxication wound stacked together. If your beast relies on precise spears, check your input device before you blame the character.

A level-20 style training quest showed up in that run as a personal goal, with body armor and a cosmetic they called Invictus near the end. Those names are player experience, not a published ibex unlock tree. Track your own quest text.

Afflictions and the One Gear Slot

Training is where this roguelite gets mean. Experience forges skills, and the same sessions hand out ghastly wounds. In the bear log, several wounds were accepted only because the build was already winning.

Wound (player-reported)DownsideWhen it was still taken
Hidden strain, flat bonus XPYou cannot see the affliction comingEarly, to rush levels
IntoxicationCannot walk straight; throws missMid-run, then they regretted aim
Too bright / hallucinationsScreen readability falls apartTaken, then called a bad viewer experience

Slightly shorter chainsLess co-op reachSolo only
Involuntary swingsBlocks turn into whiffsSkipped on purpose
Damage after a long moveChip damage for repositioningSkipped
Idle damage timerHurt if you stop attackingCalled manageable

Damage-per-affliction, reported around 3% each, is why scars can be correct. It is also why a limp on a fast beast is a different tax than a limp on a bear that was already slow. If you ever field a Chained Beasts ibex built around charges and spacing, a severe limp can delete the passive you picked the character for. A bear that wants to be hit can wear "take damage" wounds more easily.

Gear follows the same logic. Double unarmed damage was called gross because it was the only item, and every punch skill multiplied it. A shield, harpoon, or stamina item loses if your entire kit is fists. If your beast has no punch crits, no trip chance, and no embed payoff, that same item is a dead slot. Buy the discount and the crowd buff when they show up; both helped the logged run before the knuckles did.

Co-op changes the math again. Official design wants four players tangled in creative, cruel ways. One person's intoxication miss can yank the chain. One person's fury window is the moment everyone should stick a weapon. Call the punch. Do not all roll training wounds that shorten chains on the same night.

Search interest in the Chained Beasts ibex is ahead of published character data. That is normal a little over a week after launch, when wikis are thin and one viral unarmed bear clip is doing the teaching. Use the official feature list for systems. Use the bear log for numbers you can try to reproduce. Use your pause menu for the actual beast.

If the ibex is in your unlock list, screenshot the card before you train. Compare it to the bear column above. Tank passives want the trade-hits build. A faster, horned fighter should prove a charge, a shove, or a backstab loop before you spend the only gear slot on knuckles. If the name never appears, you are not missing a secret stat block. You are looking at a roster Featherweight has not fully documented in public store text, and the animal that currently has a community spotlight is the bear.

FAQ

Is the Chained Beasts ibex a confirmed fighter?

Not in the Xbox listing or the database page used here. Both describe unlockable characters with powerful abilities and an animal-arena theme. Neither prints an ibex moveset, health value, or unlock condition. Check the in-game roster before you build around the name.

Which beast has a community unarmed build?

Player experience covers the hulking bear: extra health, less speed, and a short invulnerability plus fury when hit. Brass knuckles, a double-unarmed item, and Drive It Home were the reported breakpoint. Bosses then dropped in a handful of hits. That kit is not automatically shared with other beasts.

Do chains change how a character should be built?

Yes. Solo, a shorter-chain wound was shrugged off. In co-op, the same wound fights the fantasy of synchronized trips. Official copy warns that poor coordination wraps you around obstacles. Pick mobility passives carefully if your group already struggles to stay untangled.

Where should I confirm patches and platforms?

Start with the Xbox product page linked above for platforms, co-op caps, and the October 15, 2026 release. Skill names and percentages in this article come from one community run and can change in a balance patch. If a tooltip disagrees with a table here, trust the tooltip.
